Farewell to Panny Lumix FX01

Bought this decent camera at $600 last year for my birthday pressie. I love it for the compactness. The reason why I chose this camera was mainly because of the 28mm wide angle and the Mega O.I.S (Optical Image Stabilizer). The latter feature is mainly for friends or other people who are helping me to take a shot. I want to appear sharp!!

Well, this camera has all the aspects i liked accept it can get rather noisy (grainy) even at low ISO settings. Shots above ISO 200 are totally unuseable and not to mention the Hi-ISO setting (ISO 1600).

Downsides aside, I found that this camera is very responsive and WB (White Balance) is excellence. Previewing photos on the LCD is really gonna blow you off. The colours are vivid and bright on the LCD but it appears mediocre on the monitor.

After my taiwan trip, I decided to sell it to one my friend at $260. I really can't tolerate the lousy noise control now. In addition, a lot of the images taken with Pony with me inside are OOF (out of focus). I guess I need a face detection camera. yeah... for the use of friends and other people again.

Now I still miss my tiny handy Panny!

Here are some shots from the Panny:

Taipei Trip (Day 7)

Didn't take any photo that day except this. Found it interesting and hence posted this. We were aware of the results were released! Yes, our exams results for the last semster. We were all eager to know the results and as well as degree class.

While at Taoyuan International Airport, we came across an free internet corner and we checked our results on spot. We all did well! Graduated finally!

One of the song by 曹格 that was heard over and over again in shops of night markets during the trip. Title is 背叛. Somehow, hearing this track reminds me of the memories during the trip. hence, decided to include this here.

Taipei Trip (Day 6)

Day 6

Rain rain rain... woke up with rain again. As we were sick of shopping, we changed our plan to visit Danshui instead. Feeling very sleepy and tired after the KTV section pervious late night.

<== Superstar Yanjuan

Visited Hongmao Cheng before proceeding to Danshui.
There's nothing but a boring museum however there are quite a lot of nice spots for phototaking.

<== Chris & Alan awaiting for prosecution in the cell

Shuqiang won the best goal keeper award. How much are the doggies in the window?

After all the fun at the museum, we headed to Danshui by bus.

Check out the nice scenery at the Yu ren ma tou!

Debra at Lovers' Bridge
Pretty flowers at entrance of the bridge
Xin flew and landed on the bridge

Xin was scolding me for taking so long

The Lovers' Bridge

Took a ferry to Danshui then to Bali.

These 2 cute taiwanese brothers were very chatty with Xin jie jie

After dinner at Bali, the girls went shopping at Shilin night market (Not again!) Guys decided to visit Taipei 101 and shopping malls nearby.

A group of "smokers"

They were actually smoking candy cigarettes

Taipei Trip (Day 5)

On the fifth Day, we amended our plan to head for Wulai instead of shopping. All thanks to the rainny day. Other than Yeliu, Wulai was what I most wanted to go.

Upon reaching, as the sky was still showering with rain, we had lunch and hoped that the rain to stopped soon. We had lunch in this restaurant. They have a creative way of displaying the menu by displaying by the raw ingredients of each dishes. Wulai is famous for bamboo rice. It is actually rice stuffed in bamboo. Highly recommended!!

After lunch we carried on despite the dizzle.

The railway was under maintence for 2 months. So we walked up the mountain by foot.
Hmmm... Xin looked great in red!

Rain continued to shower badly (click pic to enlarge).

This is the place we wanted to reach, on top of the mountain, Yunxian Entertainment Park

Here's a couple of pics taken while the cable car was cuising.

Here we go again! Up the steps and finally we reached the top!

<== The girls team!

<== Like lovers

<== Shopping king, Chris

Suqiang is terrified. Xiuting promised to protect him along the way.

Best part of the day was boat rowing. I guess we all enjoyed this very much.
This is how we pair up...

Nothing much in the Entertainment Park. Tried the archery before heading down the moutain for hotspring.

Natural hotspring of Wulai. It's free!! Check out the steam behind Debra...

Headed to Ximending for dinner at Tamagoya Dan Dan Wu, egg themed restaurant.
